Aspirants for medical undergraduate courses have a reason to take a sigh of relief! As NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) test has replaced AIPMT from the year 2016 onwards. NEET is a common entrance examination at the national level for more than 52000 MBBS & BDS seats in various private & government colleges across the country, except AIIMS & JIMPER. The Central Board of Secondary Education has published a notification regarding NEET 2017 for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Medical / Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India / Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. NEET 2017 is scheduled in the month of May 2017. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form for the same in the month of December/January. Earlier, there were about 90 different entrance tests happening for 300 colleges in the country. The largest body was AIPMT. Number of aspirants appearing has also been increasing every year, as the graph suggests. NEET 2017 will be conducted in 8 languages: Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu.
