National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for Post-Graduate Diploma courses will be conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) from December 5-13. And for dental courses, NEET will take place from November 30 to December 3 this year in 86 centres across 41 cities as per the recent statement from the health.
Scope of NEET-PG 2017
NEET-PG 2017 shall be a single eligibility-cum-entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2017 which will include the following: I. All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana). II. State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana). III. MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country. IV. MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions. V. DNB Broad specialty courses (January 2017 Admission Session). The following Medical institutions are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET-PG for 2017 session: I. AIIMS, New Delhi II. PGIMER, Chandigarh III. SGPGIMS, Lucknow IV. “The examination will be held as a computer based test and will comprise of 300 multiple choice questions from the MBBS curriculum, duly prescribed as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulation notified by Medical Council of India (MCI) with prior approval of the Health Ministry, followed at medical colleges in India,” it said.
NEET will be a single eligibility-cum-entrance examination for admission to PG medical courses’ for the academic session 2017.
Similarly, the examinations for NEET MDS courses (Dental) will be held in 86 test centres at 41 cities and it will also be a computer based test which will comprise of 240 multiple choice questions.
“NEET-MDS is a single window entrance examination for entry to dental post-graduate courses. No other examination either at state level or institutional level entrance examination conducted by dental colleges or institutions shall be valid as per the Dentists Act, 1948 with effect from 2017 admission session,” the official statement said.
The website for NEET-MDS and NEET-PG will be available from September 24 and online registration will start from September 26 to October 31.
“AIIMS, PGIMER, Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) and Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology are not covered by NEET PG”.
“AIIMS, New Delhi Dental institution is not covered by centralised admissions for MDS seats through NEET-MDS for 2017 session”.
