Myths About Carpet Cleaning We Tend to Believe

Last Updated on April 16, 2014 by Bharat Saini

Many people are reluctant about cleaning their carpets for many different reasons. Some of them are simply too busy to get this task done and others feel no need to include their carpets in their cleaning agenda.

The truth is, however, that there are a lot of threats that you may expose yourself if you don’t ensure that your lovely room accessory is all clean and shiny. Here we will talk about some of the myths about carpet cleaning that we have been told at some point in our lives.

Myth No.1: Regular cleaning makes carpets wear out faster

Dirt and grime from outside can get stuck on your carpet in a variety of ways. In fact, carpets get dirty constantly. It’s either your dog that brings dirt from outside or you step on the carpet with dirty shoes. Dropping a glass of wine or a plate of food is another possible situation.

Your carpet needs you. Just think about it for a second. Once the dirt settles onto the fabric, the more you wait, the harder it will be to clean it. Not to mention, every time you step on it, dirt gets stuck on your feet and then you spread it around the house. It is important to mention that vacuuming is not the best solution. You can vacuum crumbs and other bits but you cannot remove spots. Thus, your carpet needs regular cleaning that will protect it.

Myth No.2: Every method can work

The truth is, everybody has their own preferences and demands. For example, if you have kids or pets, perhaps treating your carpet with chemicals will not seem like the greatest idea. Especially when you think of how often your children tend to lie on the floor and roll over. And you know how much pets like playing around the house, chewing things (including the carpet).

Or do you have enough free time in your schedule to wait for your carpets to dry in the sun possibly for hours or even days? Washing your carpet is probably safer than applying chemicals to it but can you afford to wait that long in order to bring it back indoors?

Also, do you trust professional cleaners or ordinary ones from the grocery store? Which option is best for you? Just sit and think. If you prefer to leave this to a professionals like carpet cleaner se6, at least you can be assured that your carpet will be properly taken care of without you being involved in the process at all (which can save you time and effort).

Myth No.3: Carpet cleaning is done only to remove dirt

Yet another myth to unveil. It may come as a surprise to you but – here is the thing – dirt is not the only reason why you would want to clean your carpet. There are many other things that you are probably unaware of. Things like cigarette smoke, air pollution, pollen, bacteria, car exhaust (even that!) and fungus.

If you are wondering how this happens, let us tell you that you bring all that from outside when you step in the house or you let it enter the building when you open the windows. Air is not the only thing that may come inside through an open door. And guess where it accumulates? Right in your carpet. So, no, dirt is not the only thing that carpet cleaning removes. Keep this in mind next time you decide to postpone carpet cleaning for later.

Did you believe any of the myths mentioned above? We hope not.
