Nandi Hills – 61 Kms
Not including Nandi hills in the list of best weekend getaways from Bangalore would be no less than a crime. It is the most popular destination and for a reason. The road leading to this beautiful hill is just the trailer to an even more amazing movie ahead. The temperature in this area is usually much lower than the city average. Catch the sunrise from this place, it offers an amazing view of the rays of the sun breaking through a blanket of clouds.
 
Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple – 54 Kms
A lesser known destination, lying en route Nandi Hills, from Bangalore, this is a majestic temple. The architecture here is a visual treat. In recent times this has become a sought after destination for pre-wedding couple shoots. The road leading upto this destination is just amazing. This is on the river Kaveri considered to be holy by the people of the state. There is also a temple for the deity Sri Ranganathaswamy that has a unique Dravidian style architecture, which you are sure to enjoy.
